Did you plan your magazine? If not, what have you learnt about the importance about planning and research?
I knew roughly what I was going to do for this task, but didn’t have an actual plan. This meant that I spent a lot of time changing things and trying to make everything look better, where a plan would of mean that I would of don’t the job a lot quicker.
What technology did you use to complete the task and how did you use it?
I used serif-pageplusx9. This made it very easy to create my front cover and contents. I was able to easy add text, boarders, photos and logos and arrange them to exactly how I wanted them. I used PhotoPlusx8 to edit my photo, which was easy to use, and meant that I could make the photo look good enough quality to be in the front of my magazine. I removed the background of my picture, and changed the contrast and brightness, and also made the photo black and white.
Did you encounter and difficulties? If so, what where they and how did you overcome them?
It was quite hard to get a good finish on the photo, as I didn’t want the edge to be so sharp that it looked fake, but I also had to keep the shape of her face, so that it looked real.
How successful was your magazine? Please identify what worked well an in hindsight, what would you improve/do differently?
I was overall quite happy with my magazine front cover, and it worked out better that I thought it would. I made all the colours coordinated with the Edgbarrow logo, which didn’t look too bad, and the photo

I quite liked the colour scheme and the name of my magazine, as I thought that the black, white, red and green. I think that because they were the same colour as the school logo, it worked quite well. I liked the name as well as I think it worked quite well.
What have you learnt from completing this task? Looking ahead, how will this learning be significant when completing the rest of your foundation coursework, do you think?
I have learnt a good way to set up my magazine now, and have an appreciation of too much, too little, the style and that all the features of the magazine (such as text, colour, logo, photo) are all relevant to make a high standard looking magazine
