I wanted to make my magazine, so that it was under the stereotype of rock, but also to be different, and something that was original that you don't see in other magazines. Similarities are that the colors are intense and eye catching and this is what I wanted to create. The photos in these magazines, for front covers are mostly mid shots or close up. I chose to use a mid shot as it meant I could incorporate the guitar as a prop. The photos on these magazines are also quite dull and grungy, to add to the rock effect, so I did this by editing my photos to look dirty and dark instead of bright, this also meant that my text would stand out more. 
Differences are that I wanted my magazine to be dramatic. I was mainly comparing my magazine to Classic Rock the magazine, and they have subtle fonts, whereas I wanted them to be dramatic, and in association with rock, they needed to be almost angry. I chose to have unusual backdrops, that are eye catching and you are absorbed into it. 
I have found that my magazine is not similar to any other magazine I looked and therefore I have achieved the style and originality I wanted to create.
